If you are close to your limit, and begin downloading another file, we feel it is more important to let you finish your download instead of cutting you off in the middle of a download. We apply this excess download to your next days limit. So if you went over your limit by 1 Gig then you will have 1 Gig less available to you the next day.

To connect to our news servers you must put the following information into your news reader.
Server: news.buzzardnews.com
Port: 119 (this is the default in most news readers)
Username: The username you chose when you signed up.
Password: The password we assigned you.

Can I use PayPal to pay for my account?
No. We no longer accept payments sent through PayPal.
Someone has gained access to my account. Can I get credit for what they used?
Absolutely Not! You are responsible for the usage on your accounts, whether or not you authorized someone to use your account. Password security is YOUR responsibility. We have taken all necessary precautions to prevent the release of passwords by us to anyone other than the actual account holder.

What is NNTP?
NNTP (Network News Transfer Protocol) is the predominant protocol used by computers (servers and clients) for managing the notes posted on Usenet newsgroups. NNTP replaced the original Usenet protocol, UNIX-to-UNIX Copy Protocol (UUCP) some time ago. NNTP servers manage the global network of collected Usenet newsgroups. How many connections do you allow?
We currently allow 8 connections for our metered accounts, and 8 connections for our Unlimited accounts.
Do you have an Affiliate Program?
Yes we do! You can earn cash for your referrals by joining our Affiliate Program.
How do you charge monthly accounts?
Billings will occur every month on the anniversary of your first payment. That is to say if you purchased your account on January 2nd, your next billing would be on Febuary 2nd. Pro-rated refunds will not be issued on accounts. When you cancel your account, it will automatically set to close at the end of that billing period, and you will not be charged again.

What is meant by 'Unlimited Downloads'?
An account with 'Unlimited Downloads' simply means that we do not charge you based on the amount of data that you download. 'Unlimited Downloads' does not mean that you may continuously download from our servers without limits being placed on your account. Our systems may at certain times either restrict your speed or your access to the servers because you have been excessively downloading on a large scale. These restrictions are generally temporary in nature and will be lifted automatically by our systems once they have determined that certain criteria have been met.
When does my download limit reset?
All download limits are reset every day at midnight. (California PST)
When did your Referral Program change?
The BuzzardNews.Com Referral Program was changed on March 3rd, 2007.
I had a Buzzard 3.0 account and it is no longer working and I can't renew it.
Effective 1-18-2007 we dropped the 3.0 account classes from our available product line. This account is no longer available for purchase or for renewal. Please choose another one of our other products.
Are headers counted against my download limit?
No, we do not count header downloads against your account. Please read out Terms & Conditions and Acceptable Use Policy regarding abuse of free header downloads.
How can I change my Credit Card Info?
You can change your credit card billing information from our Account Manager, then click on 'Change my Billing Information', or you can click here to be taken directly to the Billing Page.
I don't see the account class that I am in listed on the website anymore. Is this going to affect my current account?
Generally no. We may at times stop offering new signups in a specific account class, this does not usually affect customers that are currently in one of those accounts. However, if we do stop offering the product that you are currently purchasing and your account is cancelled or expires because you failed to make a payment, then you will need to select an account class from the current product line.

I have a Buzzard 1.5 or a Buzzard 3.0 account and I now have more than my daily allottment of gigs available to my account. Where did these come from?
Our 1.5 and 3.0 accounts roll over the unused gigs from one day to the next. So if you have a 1.5 account and you didn't use your gigs on Monday and Tuesday, on Wednesday you will have 4.5 Gigs, (1.5 + 1.5 + 1.5). However, these unused gigs do NOT roll over to the next billing period. When your account is renewed your gigs will be reset.
How do I change my account information?
To change your account information you will need to use the BuzzardNews Account Manager. To access the Account Manager page you must be logged into the BuzzardNews website with your username and password. Once you are logged in, a link for 'Account Manager' will be available. Once in the Account Manager you will be able to change the following information… Password / Email Address / Billing Name / Billing Address / Credit Card Number / Credit Card Expiration, etc..
Will the 100GB Package ever expire?
No. This package does not expire. Once you have downloaded 100GBytes you will not be able to connect to our servers again until you have purchased another subscription.
How do I use your service?

No, we do not provide prorated refunds for unused time/kilobytes.

You can use our automated password retrieval system or you can send an email request to support@buzzardnews.com with your username and the email address you used to signup with.

BuzzardNews enables you to check all of your account information through a secure web-based interface. Please click on the "Account Manager" link This will give you the ability to check and manage all of your account information online. You can change email addresses, examine your monthly time usage, check your account expiry/signup dates and much, much more.
Can I resell for BuzzardNews under my own brand name?
Yes you can! Our reseller program allows you to manage your users from our easy to use web interface or you can develop you own system using our API. Sign up for a BuzzardNews.Com Reseller Demo Account. Once you have signed up you will receive our pricing and Terms of Service for our Reseller Program.
What happens when I reach my download limit with a limited account?
You will need to purchase more Gigs to continue downloading from the news server. If you are on a monthly account such as Silver, Gold or Gold Plus your account will reload on its next renewal date. You may also choose to have your account Auto Reload when you run low on gigs from our Account Manager page.
How soon is BuzzardNews service available once I sign-up?
Buzzardnews accounts are usually available for use by the customer instantly, once you have received our email with your password you account is ready to use.
How do I create an account?

What is system abuse?
Abuse of the system includes, but is not limited to, spamming, exceeding the download limit on your account, excessive large scale downloading using 'unlimited download' accounts, newsgroup flooding, and unauthorized posting of copyrighted material. Abuse of the system may result in action being taken against your account. We have legal document's explaining our Terms of Service and our Acceptable Use Policy . Please read them before joining our service and review them periodically to keep abreast of any changes we may have made.
I don't have a credit card. Can I still signup?
Yes! We do have multiple payment options available. If you have a US bank account you can signup using e-Check.
You don't carry my favorite newsgroup. Can you add it?
Sure we can. Use this form to check if the group is already on our servers. if the group is not on the server you will be prompted to request it. It will generally be added within 48 hours.
How does the BuzzardNews referral program work?
For each new account that gives your referral ID# on signup, you will receive a credit bonus the first time they actually pay for their account. Please visit our Customer Referral Progam page for more details.
How do I cancel my account?
To change your account information you will need to use the BuzzardNews Account Manager. Once in the Account Manager you will be able to select 'Cancel' and submit.
How long does it take to get an email with my password?
Your password is sent instantly once you have completed the sign up process. If you have not received your password soon after signing up, please send an email to support@buzzardnews.com with the username and email you signed up with.
